Charles is the founder of the firm and heads both the Company Commercial and Media departments. He trained and qualified with City firm Laytons where he worked on a number of high profile corporate and media transactions including acquiring major film rights.

Charles specialises in the corporate and media arenas combining a personal approach with pragmatic commercial advice. Charles can advise and act on company acquisitions and disposals, shareholder agreements, joint ventures, all forms of commercial agreements and matters with a regulatory or insolvency flavour.

Charles has very strong links in both the investor and media community and has a particular reputation as one of the leading “deal makers” in the South West. Charles has extensive experience on working with private companies, public companies, financial institutions, partnerships, private individuals and entrepreneurs.

Charles enjoys all sport especially playing tennis and waterskiing. He is an avid car and power boat enthusiast.

Charles is a member of the Clifton Club and has been awarded the freedom of the City of London.

Vicki White is the Practice Manager of Charles Cook & Company and as such is responsible for the day to day smooth running of the firm.

Vicki works closely with Charles in all aspects of the firm and has considerable experience of Law Society regulations, Lexcel requirements and the Solicitors Accounts Rules.

Vicki previously worked at Bristol firm Burges Salmon and City firm Laytons.

Vicki is a Justice of the Peace.

Chris Scroggs heads both the Litigation and Debt Recovery departments and has over 25 years experience of high level litigation in Bristol and London. He was previously with City firm Laytons where he worked on substantial and high profile litigation matters.

Chris is a very commercial lawyer who prides himself on delivering excellent results for his corporate and individual clients and has considerable experience in all aspects of litigation and debt recovery including commercial disputes and professional negligence.

Chris is a father of three and a keen rugby fan.

Jonathan Webb is the head of the Property department at Charles Cook & Company having joined the firm in February 2012.

Jonathan is an experienced commercial property solicitor having worked previously at the national firm Beachcrofts, where he specialised in commercial property work including hospital site redevelopments and LIFT projects. He has also worked at Bristol and City firm Veale Wasbrough where he specialised in city centre regeneration work on behalf of local authorities.

Jonathan has also acted on behalf of local property developers and business owners on a wide range of property related issues including negotiating rights of way, Leases and Licences and advising in relation to the development of land.

Jonathan has 4 children and enjoys watching rugby and playing golf.

Owen studied Law at the University of Wales and completed the Legal Practice Course at Cardiff University. Owen qualified in 2009 with Douglas-Jones Mercer Solicitors.

Owen joined the Company Commercial Department of Charles Cook & Company in 2010 and assists Charles with all matters and advises clients on a wealth of corporate legal matters including acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures, shareholders agreements and company reconstruction.

In his spare time, Owen enjoys watching rugby and playing golf.
